September 25

The symbol of Dublin is the Wellington Bridge. It's nickname?The Ha'penny bridge, so named for the toll paid to cross the river....one old half penny.
It was refurbished in 2001 to it's original piant color, and used to be the only pedestrian bridge
to cross the Liffey until the Millenium bridge was built and opened in 2000.

when i was a young girl my friends and i would save our half pennies to buy half penny candies every second thursday after swimming class. yum.
