Force of nature

Sometimes we forget the power of nature...

we are reminded always by the tragedies such as flooding, hurricanes, tornadoes, and other catastrophes...

but sometimes the forces of nature are also pure beauty.
The waves from last night until now have been enormous. The sun is shining brightly, but there must be something brewing in the sea.

The water is up to the steps that take you to street level in some places. The sound is so loud that it feels like I am sitting at the beach instead of in my apartment, on the 12th floor above it! This is my building, and these are some shells that I found there today. I felt like I wanted to take home a memory of the waves...the sound is always inside me and I hear it to sooth me...and the shells remind me of the mix of fragility and strength.

I just THOUGHT I wanted to be at home right now. I think I would rather be sitting on that beach watching those waves!

Hi !!
I can't believ it we are both experiencing the same thing but in a different place lol. The waves are so enormous here, The good thing about is that the international surf competition is on and surfers are all excited. The bad thing is that they had to cancel it for a day or two cuz the waves were way to big and rough. I love picking up shells, but in my case I'd get carried out to sea while doing it lol.

What beautiful pictures! If I lived there, I would be out on the balcony all the time. The ocean is so peaceful to me, especially the sound of the waves. I also love to look at the horizon. It is just so beautiful. Enjoy!! Have a great weekend!
PS..the shells are pretty!

I have seen on the news about the waves. You are so lucky. Some day I will have my little cottage at the beach. And I like your Christmas shoes very much. I have a pair of Christmas shoes too. Mine have holly on them. I will wear them to a party next Sat. nite. :)

I love the ocean. I actually grew up on the Gulf of Mexico, but the sand is in my shoes and the sound -oh the sound. Beautiful photos. Makes me feel like I'm there with you.

Ocean waves are awesome!! whether soft or furious. These are some furious waves. You have the best of both worlds: a modern apartment above the sand and fury, with a view of the beach close enough to go take a walk. Wow!!!
