What was I thinking?

I guess I really wasn't thinking...

In a few days we will be heading to Buenos Aires, known for it's tango, yummy beef and....
ICE CREAM!
Buenos Aires has a lasting Italian influence and especially with their ice creams. I have been reading about dreamy mixes of flavors...yummy, creamy concoctions....
rich, dark chocolates and vanillas......

So what is the problem?

I gave up sweets for Lent! Lent is the 40 days starting on Ash Wednesday, which is the day following Carnaval/Mardi Gras; where you are to sacrifice something or do a good deed to show our love and admiration of what Jesus did for us by suffering a hard life and death.
Every year I tend to "give up" something...something that I really love:
Sweets...
which includes ice cream :(

That's ok though, I will take many glorious pictures of my family eating theirs...my son's favorite food must be ice cream :)

I'll be posting again after the weekend!
Have a great week!

Dang, they do have nice ice cream there. It makes your sacrifice that much more meaningful (especially knowing what kind of ice cream you live with here all year). :)

It's a good thing Mormons can have sugar-I can give up the alcohol and coffee no problem, but I'm not sure how long I could go without suger.

I made an awesome apple pie yesterday. I'll make you one after Easter. ;)

Oh no...... This is not fair : (

But you should buy a box of Havana Alfajor and hide it from everyone, so you can enjoy when Lent is over. I can assure you they are to die for.

God can be lenient at times. Maybe he would let it slide seeing as how you are on vacation!

Ok, I've never had the Peruvian alfajor. I will have to look for after Lent ; )

I hope you have a good time in B.A.! I´m sure you´ll enjoy other foods there, even if you don´t want to eat sweets. But I admire your sacrifice.
