Pensive days

I know, here I go again about how long it has been since my last post.
Really, I have been preoccupied with many things.
I have been feeling quite introverted and pensive, so therefore, I feel that I do not have much that I want to say out loud.

My Mom went into the hospital last week with broken ribs, pneumonia, bronchitis and emphysema.  Please keep her in your prayers.
It is very hard to be so far away, and to not know whether I should be hopping on the first plane to go see her, or waiting until summer vacation.
As of right now, I am waiting because she is getting stronger and a slight bit better, it seems, with each day.

There is always something to preoccupy our time, but this one has really sent me into a tailspin with worry.  Living overseas is fine, enjoyable and I like it very much.  BUT, when sickness hits, it is hard to be so very far away.....

I am so sorry to hear of this. I know it must be very hard for everyone. Just this past month, my mom had to go into a nursing home. She is deep into Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. My sis and I have looked after her for the past 3 years, but it is now beyond what we can do. So, I can definitely empathize with what you are going through. I wish the best for you, and your mom and family. ....big hug...d

I know just how you feel-it is so hard when there are important family needs. I'm glad to hear she's doing a bit better. 4 weeks and 3 days...

I agree. When everything is fine, it´s easy, but when I know my daughter is not feeling well, and I am soooo far away, it can be really hard!
Hope your mom get´s better soon!

Hi BG, I am so so sorry about your Mom. How did she get broken ribs? From coughing? I hope by now she is getting stronger and stronger. I know how you feel about being so far away because my children live far away from me too. And even though they are grown, they still call me when they are feeling sick. I want to fix them some chicken soup and rush right over. Take care and we'll talk soon. xo Lynn

I'm praying for your mother right now. I know you wish you could be with her, and I know you will fly to her side the moment you feel you will be needed.

(((hugs for you)))

Sending good vibes to you and your Mom. I hope she gets better soon!
It's terrible when you cannot be with her as much as you want to!

Prayers for your Mom and for your peace of mind and heart as well.
I loved your photo of your city posted last week. And last but not least, I'm tardy in commenting on your toaster. I actually caused the fire alarm to go off last week when I forgot my bagel in the toaster oven. Yes, bread does have flames when it burns. Ooops. One of my favorite words.; )

I hope your mom is doing better.
I know how hard is to be away.

I will keep her and you in my prayers.

PS: I won´t be going to Rio before my trip to Paris.
I guess we will have to have our lunch date after August.

I know just what you mean. The distance is a bummer!

Praying for your mom. And for you. It's hard to worry and not be available when she needs you.

Did her ribs break just from coughing???
