Today is the equivalent of a snow day...
school was cancelled due to heave raining and flooding.
It has been raining heavily since yesterday morning...
I feel so sad for the people in the favelas, (the poorest neighborhoods) where some people do not even have windows in their houses! They suffer terribly in these storms.
There are reports of petty crime in the downtown area due to these people needing any little bit of money they can get to help themselves.
I could complain about the endless towels that I have to wash and dry to keep up with the incoming water, or how difficult it is to walk the dogs in these deluges, but then I remember, and thank God that I have a roof over my head, food to feed my children and windows to keep me dry.

It's always good to remember that there are many people much worse of than us - stay safe!
You have such a terrific attitude! Stay dry and have fun with the kids! I used to have so much fun with my boys on the rare snow days! Ninja Turtle cartoons, nintendo, and popcorn all day long!
Enjoy them as much as you can when they are young:)
Yes. So many are vulnerable to even changes in the weather. To be inside looking out feels safe. To be out there seems so harsh. But, we know there are many who must tough it out. The world could always use more compassion and empathy.
I am glad I canceled my trip today. Eventhough it is raining pretty heavy in SP too.
I hope things get better up there.
PS.: Your son is really a gentleman in the making. How sweet he is.
love your new look.
I'm coming over tomorrow before I go crazy here!
so glad you commented on my blog...thanks. The link I had to you wasn't working, but I could get to you with your comment.
Love your thoughts...thankfulness when it's raining and blah.
Nice to catch up! Take care!
I thought of you yesterday when I was watching the news about the mudslides. We are so blessed.
I also love your new look. One day I'll change mine. I need to get with the program!
I've seen it on the news, it's terrible!
