Can someone please explain

Tonight I am watching one of the ONLY TV shows that I care to watch.
24
I know that I don't like saying this...but my addiction to this show is beyond comprehension.
 But I digress....

what I need explained is what is going on in the US?  The commercials are absolutely horrible!
There is a man dressed as a pregnant woman to bring cheap Mexican food into a ball game.
They have a recreation of Abe Lincoln as a wrestler, tearing off his shirt and suspenders.

These are the times when truly, no disrespect meant, but I am so happy that I am not living in the US to be subjected to this every time there is something that I want to watch on the TV.  Now, I know it is my choice to turn it on, but where does the absurdity end?

i have to agree that tv has gotten bad, but i also must say have you seen some of those ads they run in brasil. pg-13 or more. i would rather handle a little stupidity.

I agree the commercials are a little way out there. and as much as children mimick everything it leaves nothing to the imagination anymore.

I don't know what's going on.
We wonder the same thing.
We only get CNN International and watch it from time to time.

Greed goes so far as to run ads for Yemen, where people get kidnapped left and right, let alone ads for Africa and African banks....

There is no end in sight...in my ideal world information would flow freely. The artist Joseph Beuys made the analogy to the human body...the way blood flows...information should flow this way, and money too...clogged arteries are unhealthy...and as far as health among the nations, many are quite ill in some sense of the word. Monetarily, wealth accumulates in small powerful arenas, while the majority struggle, in terms of information-society, money buys the flow...you have the information rich and the information poor! Sorry for the long comment, too much coffee this morning! : )

and why the audiences scream like maniacs, childish, unnecessary loud & too long?
Even if it's edited afterwards it gives us a feeling 'are Americans like that?'

It's important to have good feeling and energy but too much is too much!

And why at the end of the show:
2 mins program, commercial break, 1 min program c break...really stupid (sorry!) That's when I change the channel. There's a limit how much I take that same stuff evening after evening...

huh, thanks! i feel better now! :-)

That's pretty much why we have a DVR, so we can fast forward through the crazy commercials. :)

I saw that commercial and thought it was horrible. There were several commercials during Super Bowl that were just painful to watch.

I think people the people who make these commercials have completely lost touch with reality. There was another commercial that really got me mad but I can't remember right now. I'll look around for it and let you know:)

Lucky me. I get to watch my favourite show 24 (!!) and we get Canadian commercials during it. Plus we have PVR so we can fast forward commercials anyways. You should get it..it's the best! Pause and fast forward TV.

Isn't 24 exciting this season!? We just watched the episode where Bill dies...so sad. I liked him so much!

I channel surf every time commercials come one. Honestly, I can't stand watching them. Or sometimes I just hit "mute" and Facebook or Blog on my computer until the show come back on. I don't understand the inferences in half the stuff either. And I still live here!
