Air shipment and roses!

Well it was an exciting day Wednesday to receive our air shipment.
This is the shipment that is sent along first, very small in size, that is supposed to contain some of your favorite things.

We packed a few favorite kitchen items, the cat toy (which made me laugh when it came bouncing out with it's balls on springy metal things), clothes, and of course, about a zillion stuffed dolls that my daughter put in!

It is nice to use our own plates again, and to feel just the little bit like the home is coming together. We will not have our other shipment for at least 2-4 months...so that will be a long time to wait for the comforts of home!

Me being the forever florist, I also packed a few vases into the shipment and good thinking on my part because for the 2nd week in a row I have received these from my wonderful husband! We only have 2 more weeks to be apart, and I hope it flies as quick as these past two weeks have!

I know how it feels to use own plates... :)
I miss my photo albums which are all in Finland.
How's the weather - have you bought a lot of warm clothes?

My mother in law was a preacher's kid and they moved quite often. When my sister in law died, I found this great old poppy picture. My other SIL's did not want it and I now have it hanging in my home. Are you wondering the point of this yet? I was originally my MIL's mom's picture. The story is everytime they moved, once that picture was hung, they were home. Comforts of home mean alot. I hope your next shipment arrives no later than 2 months, rather than the "-4months". Beautiful roses!

I guess I have to agree with Mythopolis... You must be a lucky woman!!

The roses look beautiful and I hope the 2 weeks go as you expect.

Best of luck.

I'm glad you are feeling more "at home" in your new home. The roses in that vase look very home-like, indeed! I hope you wont' have to wait too long for the rest of your belongings, and that the time passes quickly.

I just found you -- a kindred spirit! I know how you feel about the shipments and the moving and setting up home again in a new foreign country. I've been there many times, and it is always exciting. And then when the "big" shipment arrives it is like Christmas, but the house is a disaster with all the packing materials and boxes all over the place!

I hope you will enjoy Kazakhstan. Closest I have been is Armenia, another Former Soviet Union Republic. We were there for 6 years, arriving right after several years in cheerful, tropical Ghana in West Africa. Quite a change!
